RAUM, urban citylab at the Berlijnplein, has welcomed Michel DeWilde, curator of the Triënnale Bruges 2015-2018, as curator for her future expo’s. His first exhibition for RAUM is SummerPlay, which shows the importance of play in urban planning.
“SummerPlay aims to show the importance and relative simple task of adding play to an urban environment. Especially in such a highly structured and modular environment as Leidsche Rijn. We challenge adults and children to enjoy their summer holidays in a familiar environment and to re-discover central Leidsche Rijn with play in mind. A ‘staycation’ par excellence,” says RAUM curator DeWilde.
At SummerPlay 21 July till 1 September, RAUM brings together the work of five well-known artists in an intimate dialogue. The exhibition considers various aspects of the theme of ‘play’: the visitor can physically interact with the various installations and playfully discover the environment at others.
Opening: July 21, 2pm
Wednesday to Sunday noon – 8pm
